Terms of service

These terms apply when you make a booking through this website, by phone, or through one of our staff or registered travel agents.

Who you are contracting with

We act as an agent for the company operating the service (the hotel, transport or activity provider). The contract for the service itself is between you and that operating company, on the terms of the rate you booked.

Our own obligation is to arrange the booking accurately, to pass your details to the operating company, and to give you the supplier's terms for the rate you booked before you pay.

What we sell today

We book hotel and accommodation stays. Airport transfers and activities listed on this site are shown for reference and are arranged on enquiry — prices for them are indicative and are confirmed in writing before anything is booked. Where a page says an item is not bookable online, it is not.

Rates, availability and the moment a price becomes binding

Prices shown while you search come from the supplier's live availability and can change or sell out until the rate is re-checked. Before you pay we re-verify the exact rate with the supplier and show you the verified price, the board basis and the cancellation terms. If the supplier returns a different price at that point, we tell you the old and new figures and you decide whether to continue. We never take a payment against an unverified price.

Some rates are sold in a currency other than Indian Rupees. Where that is the case, the currency is shown next to the amount.

Cancellation and changes

Cancellation, amendment and refund rights are set by the supplier's terms for the specific rate you booked — not by a single site-wide rule. Those terms are shown to you before payment, and are printed on your voucher. Some rates are non-refundable; where that is so, the rate is labelled non-refundable before you pay. See our refund and cancellation policy.

Payment

Bookings are confirmed against a payment we can verify. Today that means bank transfer, UPI with a reference, cash collected by our staff, payment to the property on arrival where the rate permits it, or a credit account for approved travel agents. Card payment through our payment gateway (Razorpay) is offered where it is enabled on your booking.

For bank transfer and UPI, the booking is held as awaiting verification until we have matched your payment reference. Nothing is confirmed with the supplier on the strength of an unverified payment.

Your responsibilities

  • Give guest names exactly as they appear on the ID or passport that will be presented.
  • Check the voucher when you receive it, and tell us at once if anything is wrong.
  • Meet the property's own requirements — ID at check-in, minimum age, local taxes payable on site.
  • Pay any taxes or fees the supplier has marked as payable at the property; these are shown separately and are not collected by us.

Limits of our responsibility

We are responsible for the booking service we provide. We are not the operator of the hotel, transport or activity, and we do not control the condition of a property, the conduct of its staff, or a supplier's decision to refuse or alter a service. Where a supplier fails to deliver, we will act on your behalf to pursue the supplier and any refund the rate entitles you to.

Complaints and governing law

Write to support@tripexpert.in or call +91 98309 79797 with your booking reference. We respond to every complaint in writing. These terms are governed by Indian law, and the courts at Kolkata have jurisdiction.
