Refund and cancellation policy

There is no single site-wide refund window. What you can cancel, and what it costs, is set by the supplier's terms for the exact rate you booked.

The rate you book carries its own terms

Every rate we sell comes from a supplier with its own cancellation terms — often a deadline in the property's local time, after which a stated charge applies. Those terms are shown on the room before you choose it, again on the review step as a dated timeline, and are printed on your voucher. Deadlines are shown in the property's local time and are not converted, because that is how the property applies them.

Non-refundable rates

Some rates cannot be cancelled at all. Those are labelled non-refundable before you pay, on the room, on the review step and on the voucher. If you book one, no refund is due on cancellation or on a no-show. If a refundable rate matters to you, choose a rate whose timeline shows a free-cancellation period.

How to cancel

Email support@tripexpert.in or call +91 98309 79797 with your booking reference; you can look the booking up yourself at find my booking. We cancel with the supplier and confirm in writing what the supplier applied. A cancellation is only effective once we have that supplier confirmation — an unanswered email is not a cancellation.

What you get back, and when

  • Within a free-cancellation window: the amount you paid us for the booking, less nothing.
  • After a deadline has passed: the amount you paid less the charge stated in that rate's timeline. Where the timeline shows the full amount, nothing is refundable.
  • If a supplier or property fails to honour a confirmed booking: we pursue the supplier and pass back in full whatever is recovered, and we do not keep a fee on a service you did not receive.
  • If we cannot confirm your booking after taking payment: the payment is returned in full.

Card refunds are issued to the original card through the payment gateway and appear according to your bank's timelines, typically within 5–10 working days of us raising them. Bank transfer and UPI payments are returned to the account they came from. Cash payments are refunded by bank transfer to an account in the payer's name.

Amounts payable at the property

Where the supplier marks a tax or fee as payable at the property, you pay it there and we never collect it — so we cannot refund it. That applies equally to anything you buy directly from the property during your stay.

Travel agent bookings

For bookings made by a registered travel agent on credit, cancellation releases the agency credit consumed by that booking, less any amount retained under the supplier's cancellation terms. The retained amount and the reason are recorded on the booking.
